Edith Gordon was quite clearly a remarkable woman. She married two admirals, the second was Admiral Brind, and she clearly played a role in shaping the most secret establishment of World War II, Bletchley Park. This was where they broke the Germans top secret Enigma code. It was the place where one of the pioneers of computing A M Turing first started working with highly sophisticated de-coding machines.
