In the forecourt of Edinburgh Castle there is a plaque commemorating the Gordon Highlanders who died in the Boer War. It mentions Sergeant Percy Brind . By coincidence there were also two Brind drummer boys in the Gordon Highlanders who were captured by the Japanese in the Second World War.
