Dear Mavis,

Thank you very much for your letter and 'Copy of Family recorded by Emily Brind wife of Wm. Henry Brind b. 1866'. I guess this probably comes from a family bible? I have produced a copy of your family tree, and have added some information so I am enclosing a copy with this letter. I wrote to Chris Willmore, who did the work on the pre-Zebulon Brinds to raise the issue of whether it was the 1706 Thomas or the 1708 Thomas. So far I have yet to hear anything from her on the subject, but we are supposed to meet some time so maybe I will raise the subject again. I am not sure we will ever get an absolute answer to this question, in any case.

Looking at your family tree I see that two of William & Emily's sons died serving in the First World War and a second died during the war. That must have been tough. Have you ever tried to get the service records of William and John? I have put their serial numbers on my latest version to help you do this, if you wish to.

I have drawn a complete blank on Belinda Elizabeth born March 19, 1855. I can not seem to find an entry for her birth. Was she registered, or have I made a mistake somewhere?

Finally, you say you have a lot more information. If you like to photocopy this sheet and add the additional data (if there is room) I will include it in a new version.
