In mid 1998 David Brind received a letter from Thomas Ambrose Brind of Enderly, British Columbia, Canada:
Dear David,
I was glad to receive your letter. We had a Brind reunion last summer and they had a scrap book made up. It started as far back as Thomas Brind born 1628 died 1710.
My father was born Frederick Charles. Born 28 April 1891. Died March 25, 1954. If my memory is right he was born in Aldbourne, I'm not too sure.
Dad was a farrier sergeant in the 1914 to 1918 war.
My mother Lilian Ambrose born April 12, 1896 died June 22 1991.
I don't know if this will help you in any way. There is quite a lot more in between. If I can help in any way please let me know. Hope to hear from your again if it does.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas A Brind
I sent a a copy of my family history to which Thomas replied:
August 30, 1998
Dear Jonathan,
Just a few lines to thank you for sending me our Brind history. I got all the contents Photocopied so I can show the rest of the family. I hope we are able to trace some of our relations. I'm enclosing a picture of my father and mother and their history. My brother Herbert C Brind got this copy from the little church in Aldbourne when they was over there a few years ago. They saw the little house where our relations lived. Hoping this will join us closer together so we can keep in touch. There is a Wesley Brind in north Vancouver BC that is my cousin as his dad was my dad's older brother John. Hoping to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas A Brind,
Ps Please get in touch with David Brind and thank you both for all you have done.
Some years later David sent a letter which was returned and then I phoned in March 2002. It transpired that both Thomas and his brother, Herbert Charles, had died about two years earlier.
