BEEDON is at junction 13 on the M4, a little way passed World's End on the A34. Excavation and geophysical surveys at Beedon (a little above World's End on the map to the right) have shown the area is full of archaeological features. Most features have been dated to the Iron Age but there is considerable evidence for Romano-British occupation

Elijah and Sarah's gravestone still stands in Beedon Parish Church. It is a magnificent tombstone. Chris Willmore guesses, and I'm sure she's right, that his son John, by the time of Elijah's death a stonemason, had contacts in the trade.
Across the road from Elijah's magnificent tombstone, is his daughter's final resting place.
