Andrew Weil, MD, To Inaugurate Brind Lectureship at Benefit for Jefferson’s Center for Integrative Medicine

Andrew Weil, MD, is the featured guest speaker at a “homecoming” evening, which will benefit Jefferson’s Center for Integrative Medicine and celebrate its first anniversary. The event will be on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue. Dr. Weil, a Philadelphia native, is a leader in the field of integrative medicine, which combines conventional medicine and alternative therapies, and is an entertaining and informative speaker. He is internationally recognized as a teacher, researcher and author who will share with the Jefferson audience the proven tools and techniques that he proposes to the millions who log onto his website, read his books and watch his television appearances.

Dr. Weil’s presentation will inaugurate the Brind Distinguished Lectureship in Integrative Medicine at Jefferson, which has been endowed by Myrna and Ira Brind, who is a trustee of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Weil is the founder of the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and is known for promoting methods that help people live healthier lives. 

Jefferson’s Center for Integrative Medicine has also played a leading role in this national effort to promote wellness. The Center has advanced the evaluation and integration of promising new approaches to healing. Jefferson physicians at the Center incorporate nutritional, herbal and homeopathic therapies, including acupuncture, therapeutic massage, mindfulness meditation for stress reduction, movement therapy, yoga, and wellness and prevention programs, into a comprehensive patient care approach.

Tickets to attend Dr. Weil’s lecture are $50 for the main floor of the Grand Ballroom and $35 for balcony seats. Reservations may be made after February 15 through 1-800-JEFF-NOW.
