It seems likely that Amy falsified her age on this certificate, possibly to make her own age look closer to her husband's age. If that is right there may be other innacuracies on this certificate, which might explain why it is so difficult to link the information contained in the certificate, with any other known facts. The couple seem to have got married shortly after her 21st birthday, which may suggest that her parent(s) disapproved, on the assumption that they waited until they no longer needed parental permission. Perhaps Richard was not dead but they just said he was in order to explain his absence?
On the other hand it is probably more likely that Amy's parents may have been Richard/Harriet? |
