| Silas Brind probably did not die in 1858 (perhaps this was his son). He appears to have moved to Albany, New York, judging from the following entrance in the 1880 census. |

Subject: Albany NY Brinds Date: 11 March 2007 13:24:04 GMT To: j@brind.co.uk Hi Jon.. For some reason (can't quite remember who) I looked up the 1880 USA census for Albany, New York ... There were a few Brinds there and one of them was the one below... I know about George and Caleb his son so was wondering who this was and thinking they may be related searched your CD.... This Silas, I feel sure, is the brother of George.... You have a death for Silas listed in Mark Brind's Tree.. But if you look at the death of silas in 1858, there is no age... Perhaps that Silas is one of Mark's other son's who named a son for his brother who went to USA...... I don't have a subscription for Ancestry so cannot follow this up but as there are a bunch of Brinds in the same area, thought that you might like to... as they must all be related to the 2 brothers.... I have been doing quite a bit on my Dutch tree so was interested to see that Jane had a Dutch father.... Margaret |
