Liddington Hillfort (just below Wanborough,to the south west of Swindon) is said to be the site of Arthur's victory over the Saxons at Mount Badon, but without any evidence whatsoever. The hill can be reached by a steep climb from the Ridgeway and gives superb views. Map ref SU209797.

William Brind (of Liddington) in will of 1876 left £100 in trust for poor

Liddington Manor (postmark date 13th November 1908) Thanks to Eric Bizley. From bbc.co.uk, where I live in Wiltshire.

Jefferies' Land makes it clear that Liddington Manor was the residence of John Brind. Jefferies Land says there was a carved mantelpiece at the manor said to be of great age.

A press cutting probably from 1970 refers to the sale of the manor and a hand written note says there were two crests on either side of the front door, one of which was the Brind crest. Elizabeth I apparently slept in the house in 1570
