Liddington Hillfort (just below Wanborough,to the south west of Swindon) is said to be the site of Arthur's victory over the Saxons at Mount Badon, but without any evidence whatsoever. The hill can be reached by a steep climb from the Ridgeway and gives superb views. Map ref SU209797.

Jefferies' Land makes it clear that Liddington Manor was the residence of John Brind. Jefferies Land says there was a carved mantelpiece at the manor said to be of great age.

A press cutting probably from 1970 refers to the sale of the manor and a hand written note says there were two crests on either side of the front door, one of which was the Brind crest. Elizabeth I apparently slept in the house in 1570

Near this place lieth the body of the body of George Brind who died the thirtieth day of August 1799 aged 64 years and of Elizabeth his wife who died the twenty eighth day of April 1813 aged 81 years and of Joseph son of George and Elizabeth Brind who died the first day of October 1817 aged 45 years.
Frances and William John George Brind.	To the memory of Frances Brind the beloved wife of William Brind of Medbourn Farm who died the 21st March 1839 aged 59 years also William John George Brind (their only son) who died the 7th April 1843 aged 22 years.
John.	In memory of John Brind who departed this life July 25th 1866 aged 92 years.
Joseph, Mary and Lucy.	In memory of Joseph Brind son of Joseph and Mary Brind who died 18th January 1845 aged 68 years and of Lucy his wife who died 26th February 1855 aged 74 years.
Joseph, Mary, Sarah, Thomas and George	In memory of Joseph Brind who died June 9th 1830 and 85 years and of Mary his wife who died July 4th 1807 aged 54 years Sarah their daughter died August 8, 1823 aged 34 years Thomas their son who died June 9th 1834 aged 44 years George their son died June 20, 1842 aged 59 years.
