Although Lea Marsh does not appear to be generally wheelchair friendly this rather remarkable access ramp, similar in design to the boardwalk, formerly existed between Sandy Path and the King's Head Bridge. The oddest thing about it was that it was almost impossible to get wheelchairs over any of the Lea Marsh footbridges north of Lea Bridge Road. There is even a cycle trap on the King's Head Bridge that makes it difficult, or impossible for wheelchair users to access Lea Marsh. (7/Jan/2010)
In March 2010 the access ramp mysteriously disappeared.. In January 2012 it was replaced by an easy access joining Sandy Path to the bridge.
