In September 2018 some Brind photos were put up for sale. Captions named a man called George Brind and referred to a number of other Brinds, George's parents, Miss Eva Brind and Annie Hannah. It looked like Annie was the granddaughter of a man called Taylor, also photographed. Some of the photos were high quality particularly the one of George's Parents, presumably taken in the early years of the 20th century. A quick search of the internet found George and Annie in the burial ground at St Peter and St Paul, probably in Cattistock. Cattistock is one of a number of places named in the captions to the photos (with an address for a Mrs Brind at The Rooks, Cattistock). Other addresses include Waterloo Farm, Dundry and Northwick, Dundry, Bristol.

This information comes from tombstones transcribed by Brian Webber.
It is quite difficult to determine exactly who George Brind's parents were since it is hard to find an entry for his birth. This may be because he was born outside the UK or possibly he lied about his age in order to enable him to keep on working for longer, or for some other reason.

It is possible that this Eva was Evelyn May born 1906, who one might guess would be the daughter of George William Brind, married in Henley in 1902. George V was king from about 1910 (when Edward died) to about 1936. I think this ha'penny stamp dates from 1914 (judging by the '14' on the postal frank) when Eva would have been 12. Admittedly the postcard (which is difficult to read) appears to be written to a younger child. It is possible to find George William Brind (born 1874) in the 1911 census but it is not easy to find Annie, casting doubt on this identification. It might make sense, however, if Annie was away from home because she was suffering from TB and had to be in a sanatorium. The convalescent home on the postcard appears to be in Walton, Clevedon, Somerset but there is no obvious Annie in Somerset. There is, however, a very interesting George (b. 1884) who seemed to have a two year old daughter called Dorris Annie in the 1911 census. All very confusing. Evelyn May
