Hi there

I wonder if you might be able to fill in any gaps in my family tree.

I have attached what I know already but am lost after my great great gradmother who came from Ireland and married a Brind there!

I am the daughter of sandra Heritage who you can see on the right hand side of the tree under Frederick Charles brind, my grandfather.

Any help you can give me would be fantastic as my mother knows nothing about her history!

Many many thanks

Lisa

Hi Jonathan

My information comes from lots of digging around in the family and from certificates that I have from the records office but obviously I got stuck with the Irish connection!!

I can give you some background if my Brinds match yours?

Thomas Henry Brind was a prison warder at Warwick, Carlisle and Wandsworth prisons. He did as a result of an injury sustained in an altercation at the prison and as a result his children were put into the Uxbridge workhouse for three months.

The children were then removed from the workhouse and my grandfather went to live with his mothers sister. She was living with a William Heritage and my grandfather took his name. My grandfather was known all throughout his life as Charles heritage and his real name only came to light many years later when my mum casually mentioned it!!!

Since then I have been trying to find out more about the Brinds and that is what lead me to your site.

I have the birth certificate for Thomas Henry Brind but the fathers name is left off of the certificate so we are unsure of his fathers name. We also do not have copies of certificates for his sister Catherine as she was born on the seas on the way over from ireland and the same for James who was born in Dublin.

As you can see, I know a fair bit and if anything does tally up with your Brinds, it would be great to know more about them!

If I can send you anything that will help your research in return please let me know. There is all sorts, such as my grandfather being an engineer on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and his sister Alice running a sheep ranch in Australia!!!!! There are lots more Brinds in Aus because Alice and Harold (another brother) emigrated there years ago!!! My address for the CD is: Lisa Harding 116 Willowmead Close Goldsworth Park Woking Surrey GU21 3DW

Many many thanks for all your help and please keep in touch! We must all be related somehow I think! Lisa
