It is the usual practice to enter the fact that a father has died (if he has) by using the word deceased. For some reason this certificate does not show that Richard William Brind is deceased, even though he died many years before this marriage.
The ancient parish church of St Mary's Prittlewell.

Going back through my Walter John's army record I found the section about his family. He names his mum and siblings and what they are doing. Richard is in the army but I can't find a record for him. I think lots got destroyed in WW2. Herbert is in the army medical corps. Annie Louisa is at home with mother. There is an address next to the family which is Bramblebury Rd Plumstead. I've not heard of this address. I wonder if this is where the family were living just before WW1? I know when he was leaving his mother's address is Richmond Av. Carl Brind June 2010.

This photo is at the junction of Bramblebury Road / Durham Rise taken at a street party at the end of the 1st World War. The lady's name at the forefront of the picture is Florence Bingham and the lady next to her is Lilian Crawford. I got this info from Flo ' s daughter who is 82 years old now. But I consider the info reliable. Walter John Brind's military record suggests was appointed corporal in 1917 and sergeant not long after. How could he have been running a pub in Oxfordshire at the same time?
