RICHARD WILLIAM enlisted aged 19 years 4 months in the Royal West Kent Regiment of Militia on the 13th October 1901 and on the 21st November 1901 aged 19 years 5 months, in the Corps of Hussars of the Line, transferred on the 23rd November to the Corps of Dragoons of the Line and transferred again on the 19th February 1904 to the RGA. He was discharged on the 21st November 1913. He married Florence Mary Jane Gouldney on the 23rd June 1906. His children born during his service were Florence Louise 7th April 1907, Richard William Edward 24th February 1910 and Nellie Muriel 26th July 1912. The first two are, of course, on the 1911 census. Right is his son's attestation in 1940.
